American Stroke Association honors
the Georgia Neuro Center
MACON, GA (December 16, 2009) The Georgia
Neuro Center, a service of The Medical Center
of Central Georgia, was presented Monday with
the Get With The Guidelines® Bronze Performance
Award from the American Stroke Association.
Hospitals receiving the award have demonstrated
a commitment to treating stroke patients with
85 percent or higher compliance to core standard
levels of care as outlined by the American Stroke
Association. Less than 20 percent of hospitals
nationwide receive this award.
This is a huge accomplishment, said
Brandi Rambo RN, MSN, NP-C, Stroke Program Clinical
Coordinator. It involved a lot of hard work
from many different disciplines and has truly
been a team effort. The people that really benefit
from this are the patients that come here for
treatment.
The Get With The Guidelines® program puts
the unparalleled expertise of the American Stroke
Association to work for hospitals nationwide,
helping hospital care teams ensure that the care
provided to stroke patients is aligned with the
latest evidence-based guidelines. The goal of
participating in the program is to save lives.
As a comprehensive stroke center, the Georgia
Neuro Center aims to provide complete care to
patients experiencing the most complex strokes
requiring specialized testing and other interventions.
The next level of achievement is the Silver Performance
Award, which the division is diligently working
toward.
